haYashar Jasher 13

1 a:

And Terach (8646) took his son Av'ram (87) and his grandson Lot (3876), the son of Haran (2039), and Saray (8297) his daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Av'ram (87), and all the souls of his household and went with them from Ur (218) Kas'dim (3778) to go to the land of K'na'an (3667). And when they came as far as the land of Haran (2039) they remained there, for it was exceedingly good land for pasture, and of sufficient extent for those who accompanied them.

2 b:

And the people of the land of Haran (2039) saw that Av'ram (87) was good and upright with Elohim (430) and men, and that Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) his Elohim (430) was with him, and some of the people of the land of Haran (2039) came and joined Av'ram (87), and he taught them the instruction of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) and his ways; and these men remained with Av'ram (87) in his house and they adhered to him.

3 g:

And Av'ram (87) remained in the land three years, and at the expiration of three years Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) appeared to Av'ram (87) and said to him; I am Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) who brought thee forth from Ur (218) Kas'dim (3778), and delivered thee from the hands of all thine enemies.

4 d:

And now therefore if thou wilt hearken to my voice and keep my commandments, my statutes and my laws, then will I cause thy enemies to fall before thee, and I will multiply thy seed like the stars of heaven, and I will send my blessing upon all the works of thy hands, and thou shalt lack nothing.

5 h:

Arise now, take thy wife and all belonging to thee and go to the land of K'na'an (3667) and remain there, and I will there be unto thee for Elohim (430), and I will bless thee. And Av'ram (87) rose and took his wife and all belonging to him, and he went to the land of K'na'an (3667) as Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) had told him; and Av'ram (87) was fifty years old when he went from Haran (2039).

6 w:

And Av'ram (87) came to the land of K'na'an (3667) and dwelt in the midst of the city, and he there pitched his tent amongst the children of K'na'an (3667), inhabitants of the land.

7 z:

And Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) appeared to Av'ram (87) when he came to the land of K'na'an (3667), and said to him, This is the land which I gave unto thee and to thy seed after thee forever, and I will make thy seed like the stars of heaven, and I will give unto thy seed for an inheritance all the lands which thou seest.

8 x:

And Av'ram (87) built an altar in the place where Elohim (430) had spoken to him, and Av'ram (87) there called upon the name of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430).

9 j:

At that time, at the end of three years of the dwelling of Av'ram (87) in the land of K'na'an (3667), in that year No'ach (5146) died, which was the fifty-eighth year of the life of Av'ram (87); and all the days that No'ach (5146) lived were nine hundred and fifty years and he died.

10 y:

And Av'ram (87) dwelt in the land of K'na'an (3667), he, his wife, and all belonging to him, and all those that accompanied him, together with those that joined him from the people of the land; but NAkhor (5911) (5152), brother of Av'ram (87), and Terach (8646) his father, and Lot (3876) the son of Haran (2039) and all belonging to them dwelt in Haran (2039).

11 ay:

In the fifth year of the dwelling of Av'ram (87) in the land of K'na'an (3667) the people of S'dom (5467) and Amorah (6017) and all the cities of the plain revolted from the power of K'dar'la'omer, one reigning of Eylam (5867); for all the ones reigning of the cities of the plain had served K'dar'la'omer for twelve years, and given him a yearly tax, but in those days in the thirteenth year, they rebelled against him.

12 by:

And in the tenth year of the dwelling of Av'ram (87) in the land of K'na'an (3667) there was war between Nim'rod (5248) one reigning of Shin'ar (8152) and K'dar'la'omer one reigning of Eylam (5867), and Nim'rod (5248) came to fight with K'dar'la'omer and to subdue him.

13 gy:

For K'dar'la'omer was at that time one of the princes of the hosts of Nim'rod (5248), and when all the people at the tower were dispersed and those that remained were also scattered upon the face of the earth, K'dar'la'omer went to the land of Eylam (5867) and reigned over it and rebelled against his lord.

14 dy:

And in those days when Nim'rod (5248) saw that the cities of the plain had rebelled, he came with pride and anger to war with K'dar'la'omer, and Nim'rod (5248) assembled all his princes and subjects, about seven hundred thousand men, and went against K'dar'la'omer, and K'dar'la'omer went out to meet him with five thousand men, and they prepared for battle in the valley of Bavel (894) which is between Eylam (5867) and Shin'ar (8152).

15 hj:

And all of the ones reigning those fought there, and Nim'rod (5248) and his people were smitten before the people of K'dar'la'omer, and there fell from the men of Nim'rod (5248) about six hundred thousand, and Mar'don the son of the one reigning fell amongst them.

16 wj:

And Nim'rod (5248) fled and returned in shame and disgrace to his land, and he was under subjection to K'dar'la'omer for a long time, and K'dar'la'omer returned to his land and sent princes of his host to the ones reigning that dwelt around him, to Ari'och one reigning of Elasar, and to Tid'al one reigning of Goyim, and made a covenant with them, and they were all obedient to his commands.

17 zy:

And it was in the fifteenth year of the dwelling of Av'ram (87) in the land of K'na'an (3667), which is the seventieth year of the life of Av'ram (87), and Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) appeared to Av'ram (87) in that year and he said to him, I am Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) who brought thee out from Ur (218) Kas'dim (3778) to give thee this land for an inheritance.

18 xy:

Now therefore walk before me and be perfect and keep my commands, for to thee and to thy seed I will give this land for an inheritance, from the river Mits'rayim (4714) unto the great river P'rat (6578).

19 jy:

And thou shalt come to thy fathers in peace and in good age, and the fourth generation shall return here in this land and shall inherit it forever; and Av'ram (87) built an altar, and he called upon the name of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) who appeared to him, and he brought up sacrifices upon the altar to Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430).

20 k:

At that time Av'ram (87) returned and went to Haran (2039) to see his father and mother, and his father's household, and Av'ram (87) and his wife and all belonging to him returned to Haran (2039), and Av'ram (87) dwelt in Haran (2039) five years.

21 ak:

And many of the people of Haran (2039), about seventy-two men, followed Av'ram (87) and Av'ram (87) taught them the instruction of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) and his ways, and he taught them to know Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430).

22 bk:

In those days Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) appeared to Av'ram (87) in Haran (2039), and he said to him, Behold, I spoke unto thee these twenty years back saying,

23 gk:

Go forth from thy land, from thy birth-place and from thy father's house, to the land which I have shown thee to give it to thee and to thy children, for there in that land will I bless thee, and make thee a great nation, and make thy name great, and in thee shall the families of the earth be blessed.

24 dk:

Now therefore arise, go forth from this place, thou, thy wife, and all belonging to thee, also every one born in thy house and all the souls thou hast made in Haran (2039), and bring them out with thee from here, and rise to return to the land of K'na'an (3667).

25 hk:

And Av'ram (87) arose and took his wife Saray (8297) and all belonging to him and all that were born to him in his house and the souls which they had made in Haran (2039), and they came out to go to the land of K'na'an (3667).

26 wk:

And Av'ram (87) went and returned to the land of K'na'an (3667), according to the word of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430). And Lot (3876) the son of his brother Haran (2039) went with him, and Av'ram (87) was seventy-five years old when he went forth from Haran (2039) to return to the land of K'na'an (3667).

27 zk:

And he came to the land of K'na'an (3667) according to the word of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) to Av'ram (87), and he pitched his tent and he dwelt in the plain of Mam're (4471), and with him was Lot (3876) his brother's son, and all belonging to him.

28 xk:

And Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) again appeared to Av'ram (87) and said, To thy seed will I give this land; and he there built an altar to Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) who appeared to him, which is still to this day in the plains of Mam're (4471).
