And Yish'ma'el (3458) then rose up and took his wife and his children and his cattle and all belonging to him, and he journeyed from there and he went to his father in the land of the P'lish'tim (6430).

2 b:

And Av'raham (85) related to Yish'ma'el (3458) his son the transaction with the first wife that Yish'ma'el (3458) took, according to what she did.

3 g:

And Yish'ma'el (3458) and his children dwelt with Av'raham (85) many days in that land, and Av'raham (85) dwelt in the land of the P'lish'tim (6430) a long time.

4 d:

And the days increased and reached twenty six years, and after that Av'raham (85) with his servants and all belonging to him went from the land of the P'lish'tim (6430) and removed to a great distance, and they came near to Chev'ron (2275), and they remained there, and the servants of Av'raham (85) dug wells of water, and Av'raham (85) and all belonging to him dwelt by the water, and the servants of Avimelekh (40) one reigning of the P'lish'tim (6430) heard the report that the servants of Av'raham (85) had dug wells of water in the borders of the land.

And Avimelekh (40) one reigning of the P'lish'tim (6430) heard of this affair, and he with Phikhol (6369) the captain of his host and twenty of his men came to Av'raham (85), and Avimelekh (40) spoke to Av'raham (85) concerning his servants, and Av'raham (85) rebuked Avimelekh (40) concerning the well of which his servants had robbed him.

7 z:

And Avimelekh (40) said to Av'raham (85), As Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) liveth who created the whole earth, I did not hear of the act which my servants did unto thy servants until this day.

8 x:

And Av'raham (85) took seven ewe lambs and gave them to Avimelekh (40), saying, Take these, I pray thee, from my hands that it may be a testimony for me that I dug this well.

9 j:

And Avimelekh (40) took the seven ewe lambs which Av'raham (85) had given to him, for he had also given him cattle and herds in abundance, and Avimelekh (40) swore to Av'raham (85) concerning the well, therefore he called that well B'er Sheva (884), for there they both swore concerning it.

10 y:

And they both made a covenant in B'er Sheva (884), and Avimelekh (40) rose up with Phikhol (6369) the captain of his host and all his men, and they returned to the land of the P'lish'tim (6430), and Av'raham (85) and all belonging to him dwelt in B'er Sheva (884) and he was in that land a long time.

11 ay:

And Av'raham (85) planted a large grove in B'er Sheva (884), and he made to it four gates facing the four sides of the earth, and he planted a vineyard in it, so that if a traveler came to Av'raham (85) he entered any gate which was in his road, and remained there and ate and drank and satisfied himself and then departed.

12 by:

For the house of Av'raham (85) was always open to the sons of men that passed and repassed, who came daily to eat and drink in the house of Av'raham (85).

13 gy:

And any man who had hunger and came to the house of Av'raham (85), Av'raham (85) would give him bread that he might eat and drink and be satisfied, and any one that came naked to his house he would clothe with garments as he might choose, and give him silver and gold and make known to him Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) who had created him in the earth; this did Av'raham (85) all his life.

14 dy:

And Av'raham (85) and his children and all belonging to him dwelt in B'er Sheva (884), and he pitched his tent as far as Chev'ron (2275).

15 hj:

And the brother of Av'raham (85) NAkhor (5911) (5152) and his father and all belonging to them dwelt in Haran (2039), for they did not come with Av'raham (85) to the land of K'na'an (3667).

16 wj:

And children were born to NAkhor (5911) (5152) which Mil'kah (4435) the daughter of Haran (2039), and sister to Sarah (8283), wife of Av'raham (85), bare to him.

27 zk:

These are the families of the children of NAkhor (5911) (5152), that were born to them in Haran (2039); and Aram (758) the son of Q'mu'el (7055) and Rechob his brother went away from Haran (2039), and they found a valley in the land by the river P'rat (6578).

28 xk:

And they built a city there, and they called the name of the city after the name of P'tor (6604) the son of Aram (758), that is Aram Naharayim (763) unto this day.

31 al:

And Terach (8646), father of NAkhor (5911) (5152) and Av'raham (85), went and took another wife in his old age, and her name was Pelilah, and she conceived and bare him a son and he called his name Tsovah (6678).

36 wl:

And Aram (758) son of Tsovah (6678) son of Terach (8646), had three wives and he begat twelve sons and three daughters; and Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) gave to Aram (758) the son of Tsovah (6678), riches and possessions, and abundance of cattle, and flocks and herds, and the man increased greatly.

37 zl:

40 m:

And Yits'chaq (3327) the son of Av'raham (85) was growing up in those days, and Av'raham (85) his father taught him the way of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) to know Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430), and Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) was with him.

41 am:

And when Yits'chaq (3327) was thirty-seven years old, Yish'ma'el (3458) his brother was going about with him in the tent.

42 bm:

And Yish'ma'el (3458) boasted of himself to Yits'chaq (3327), saying, I was thirteen years old when Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) spoke to my father to circumcise us, and I did according to the word of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) which he spoke to my father, and I gave my soul unto Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430), and I did not transgress his word which he commanded my father.

43 gm:

And Yits'chaq (3327) answered Yish'ma'el (3458), saying, Why dost thou boast to me about this, about a little bit of thy flesh which thou didst take from thy body, concerning which Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) commanded thee?

44 dm:

As Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) liveth, the Elohim (430) of my father Av'raham (85), if Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) should say unto my father, Take now thy son Yits'chaq (3327) and bring him up an offering before me, I would not refrain but I would joyfully accede to it.

45 hm:

And Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) heard the word that Yits'chaq (3327) spoke to Yish'ma'el (3458), and it seemed good in the sight of Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430), and he thought to try Av'raham (85) in this matter.

46 wm:

And the day arrived when the sons of Elohim (430) came and placed themselves before Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430), and Satan (7854) also came with the sons of Elohim (430) before Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430).

47 zm:

And Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) said unto Satan (7854), Whence comest thou? and Satan (7854) answered Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

48 xm:

And Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) said to Satan (7854), What is thy word to me concerning all the children of the earth? and Satan (7854) answered Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) and said, I have seen all the children of the earth who serve thee and remember thee when they require anything from thee.

49 jm:

And when thou givest them the thing which they require from thee, they sit at their ease, and forsake thee and they remember thee no more.

50 n:

Hast thou seen Av'raham (85) the son of Terach (8646), who at first had no children, and he served thee and erected altars to thee wherever he came, and he brought up offerings upon them, and he proclaimed thy name continually to all the children of the earth.

51 an:

And now that his son Yits'chaq (3327) is born to him, he has forsaken thee, he has made a great feast for all the inhabitants of the land, and Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) he has forgotten.

52 bn:

For amidst all that he has done he brought thee no offering; neither burnt offering nor peace offering, neither ox, lamb nor goat of all that he killed on the day that his son was weaned.

53 gn:

Even from the time of his son's birth till now, being thirty-seven years, he built no altar before thee, nor brought any offering to thee, for he saw that thou didst give what he requested before thee, and he therefore forsook thee.

54 dn:

And Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) said to Satan (7854), Hast thou thus considered my servant Av'raham (85)? for there is none like him upon earth, a perfect and an upright man before me, one that feareth Elohim (430) and avoideth evil; as I live, were I to say unto him, Bring up Yits'chaq (3327) thy son before me, he would not withhold him from me, much more if I told him to bring up a burnt offering before me from his flock or herds.

55 hn:

And Satan (7854) answered Y'hovah (3068) Elohim (430) and said, Speak then now unto Av'raham (85) as thou hast said, and thou wilt see whether he will not this day transgress and cast aside thy words.
