1 a:

At that time Y'hovah (3068) appeared unto Ya'aqov (3290) saying, Arise, go to Beyt El (1008) and remain there, and make there an altar to Y'hovah (3068) who appeareth unto thee, who delivered thee and thy sons from affliction.

2 b:

And Ya'aqov (3290) rose up with his sons and all belonging to him, and they went and came to Beyt El (1008) according to the word of Y'hovah (3068).

3 g:

And Ya'aqov (3290) was ninety-nine years old when he went up to Beyt El (1008), and Ya'aqov (3290) and his sons and all the people that were with him, remained in Beyt El (1008) in Luz (3870), and he there built an altar to Y'hovah (3068) who appeared unto him, and Ya'aqov (3290) and his sons remained in Beyt El (1008) six months.

4 d:

At that time died D'vorah (1683) the daughter of Uts (5780), the nurse of Riv'qah (7259), who had been with Ya'aqov (3290); and Ya'aqov (3290) buried her beneath Beyt El (1008) under an oak that was there.

5 h:

And Riv'qah (7259) the daughter of B'tu'el (1328), the mother of Ya'aqov (3290), also died at that time in Chev'ron (2275), the same is Qir'yat Ar'ba (7153), and she was buried in the cave of Makh'pelah (4375) which Av'raham (85) had bought from the children of Chet (2845).

6 w:

And the life of Riv'qah (7259) was one hundred and thirty-three years, and she died and when Ya'aqov (3290) heard that his mother Riv'qah (7259) was dead he wept bitterly for his mother, and made a great mourning for her, and for D'vorah (1683) her nurse beneath the oak, and he called the name of that place Allon-bachuth.

7 z:

And Lavan (3837) the Syrian died in those days, for Elohim (430) smote him because he transgressed the covenant that existed between him and Ya'aqov (3290).

8 x:

And Ya'aqov (3290) was a hundred years old when Y'hovah (3068) appeared unto him, and blessed him and called his name Yis'ra'el (3478), and Rachel (7354) the wife of Ya'aqov (3290) conceived in those days.

9 j:

And at that time Ya'aqov (3290) and all belonging to him journeyed from Beyt El (1008) to go to his father's house, to Chev'ron (2275).

10 y:

And whilst they were going on the road, and there was yet but a little way to come to Eph'rat (672), Rachel (7354) bare a son and she had hard labor and she died.

11 ay:

And Ya'aqov (3290) buried her in the way to Eph'rat (672), which is Beyt Lachem (1035), and he set a pillar upon her grave, which is there unto this day; and the days of Rachel (7354) were forty-five years and she died.

12 by:

And Ya'aqov (3290) called the name of his son that was born to him, which Rachel (7354) bare unto him, Bin'yamin (1144), for he was born to him in the land on the right hand.

13 gy:

And it was after the death of Rachel (7354), that Ya'aqov (3290) pitched his tent in the tent of her handmaid Bil'hah (1090).

14 dy:

And R'uven (7205) was jealous for his mother Le'ah (3812) on account of this, and he was filled with anger, and he rose up in his anger and went and entered the tent of Bil'hah (1090) and he thence removed his father's bed.

15 hj:

At that time the portion of birthright, together with the kingly and priestly offices, was removed from the sons of R'uven (7205), for he had profaned his father's bed, and the birthright was given unto Yoseph (3130), the kingly office to Y'hudah (3063), and the priesthood unto Levi (3878), because R'uven (7205) had defiled his father's bed.

16 wj:

And these are the generations of Ya'aqov (3290) who were born to him in Padan-Aram (758), and the sons of Ya'aqov (3290) were twelve.

17 zy:

The sons of Le'ah (3812) were R'uven (7205) the first born, and Shim'on (8095), Levi (3878), Y'hudah (3063), Yisaskhar (3485), Z'vulun (2074), and their sister Dinah (1783); and the sons of Rachel (7354) were Yoseph (3130) and Bin'yamin (1144).

18 xy:

The sons of Zil'pah (2153), the handmaid of Le'ah (3812), were Gad (1410) and Asher (836), and the sons of Bil'hah (1090), the handmaid of Rachel (7354), were Dan (1835) and Naph'tali (5321); these are the sons of Ya'aqov (3290) which were born to him in Padan-Aram (758).

19 jy:

And Ya'aqov (3290) and his sons and all belonging to him journeyed and came to Mam're (4471), which is Qir'yat Ar'ba (7153), that is in Chev'ron (2275), where Av'raham (85) and Yits'chaq (3327) sojourned, and Ya'aqov (3290) with his sons and all belonging to him, dwelt with his father in Chev'ron (2275).

20 k:

And his brother Esav (6215) and his sons, and all belonging to him went to the land of Se'ir (8165) and dwelt there, and had possessions in the land of Se'ir (8165), and the children of Esav (6215) were fruitful and multiplied exceedingly in the land of Se'ir (8165).

21 ak:

And these are the generations of Esav (6215) that were born to him in the land of K'na'an (3667), and the sons of Esav (6215) were five.

22 bk:

And Adah (5711) bare to Esav (6215) his first born Eliphaz (464), and she also bare to him R'u'el (7467), and Oholivamah (173) bare to him Jeush, Yaalam and Qorach (7141).

23 gk:

These are the children of Esav (6215) who were born to him in the land of K'na'an (3667); and the sons of Eliphaz (464) the son of Esav (6215) were Teyman (8487), Omar, Zepho, Gat (1661)am, Kenaz and Amalex, and the sons of R'u'el (7467) were Nachath, Zerach (2226), Shamah and Mizzah.

24 dk:

And the sons of Jeush were Timnah, Alvah, Jethet; and the sons of Yaalam were Alah, Phinor and Kenaz.

25 hk:

And the sons of Qorach (7141) were Teyman (8487), Miv'tsar (4014), Mag'di'el (4025) and Iram (5902); these are the families of the sons of Esav (6215) according to their dukedoms in the land of Se'ir (8165).

26 wk:

And these are the names of the sons of Se'ir (8165) the Chori (2752), inhabitants of the land of Se'ir (8165), Lotan (3877), Shoval (7732), Tsiv'on (6649), Anah (6034), Dishon (1787) (1787), Etser (687) and Dishan (1789), being seven sons.

27 zk:

And the children of Lotan (3877) were Chori (2752) (2753), Heymam (1967) and their sister Tim'na (8555), that is Tim'na (8555) who came to Ya'aqov (3290) and his sons, and they would not give ear to her, and she went and became a concubine to Eliphaz (464) the son of Esav (6215), and she bare to him Amaleq (6002).

28 xk:

And the sons of Shoval (7732) were Al'van (5935), Manachat (4506), Eyval (5858), Sh'pho (8195), and Onam (208), and the sons of Tsiv'on (6649) were Ayah (345), and Anah (6034), this was that Anah (6034) who found the springs in the wilderness when he fed the asses of Tsiv'on (6649) his father.

29 jk:

And whilst he was feeding his father's asses he led them to the wilderness at different times to feed them.

30 l:

And there was a day that he brought them to one of the deserts on the sea shore, opposite the wilderness of the people, and whilst he was feeding them, behold a very heavy storm came from the other side of the sea and rested upon the asses that were feeding there, and they all stood still.

31 al:

And afterward about one hundred and twenty great and terrible animals came out from the wilderness at the other side of the sea, and they all came to the place where the asses were, and they placed themselves there.

32 bl:

And those animals, from their middle downward, were in the shape of the sons of men, and from their middle upward, some had the likeness of bears, and some the likeness of the keephas, with tails behind them from between their shoulders reEchi (278)ng down to the earth, like the tails of the ducheephath, and these animals came and mounted and rode upon these asses, and led them away, and they went away unto this day.

33 gl:

And one of these animals approached Anah (6034) and smote him with his tail, and then fled from that place.

34 dl:

And when he saw this work he was exceedingly afraid of his life, and he fled and escaped to the city.

35 hl:

And he related to his sons and brothers all that had happened to him, and many men went to seek the asses but could not find them, and Anah (6034) and his brothers went no more to that place from that day following, for they were greatly afraid of their lives.

36 wl:

And the children of Anah (6034) the son of Se'ir (8165), were Dishon (1787) and his sister Oholivamah (173), and the children of Dishon (1787) were Chem'dan (2533), Esh'ban (790), Yit'ran (3506) and Kh'ran (3763), and the children of Etser (687) were Bil'han (1092), Za'avan (2190) and Aqan (6130), and the children of Dishon (1787) were Uts (5780) and Aran (765).

37 zl:

These are the families of the children of Se'ir (8165) the Chori (2752), according to their dukedoms in the land of Se'ir (8165).

38 xl:

And Esav (6215) and his children dwelt in the land of Se'ir (8165) the Chori (2752), the inhabitant of the land, and they had possessions in it and were fruitful and multiplied exceedingly, and Ya'aqov (3290) and his children and all belonging to them, dwelt with their father Yits'chaq (3327) in the land of K'na'an (3667), as Y'hovah (3068) had commanded Av'raham (85) their father.
