1 a:

In the end of years died Sha'ul (7586) one reigning of Edom (123), and Ba'al Chanan (1177) the son of Akh'bor (5907) reigned in his place.

2 b:

In the sixteenth year of the reign of Mosheh (4872) over Kush (3568), Ba'al Chanan (1177) the son of Akh'bor (5907) reigned in the land of Edom (123) over all the sons of Edom (123) for thirty-eight years.

3 g:

In his days Mo'av (4124) rebelled against the power of Edom (123), having been under Edom (123) since the days of Hadad (1908) the son of B'dad (911), who smote them and Mid'yan (4080), and brought Mo'av (4124) under subjection to Edom (123).

4 d:

And when Ba'al Chanan (1177) the son of Akh'bor (5907) reigned over Edom (123), all the sons of Mo'av (4124) withdrew their allegiance from Edom (123).

5 h:

And Angeas one reigning of Africa died in those days, and Az'drubal his son reigned in his stead.

6 w:

And in those days died Yaneas one reigning of the sons of Kitim (3794), and they buried him in his temple which he had built for himself in the plain of Canopia for a residence, and Latinus reigned in his stead.

7 z:

In the twenty-second year of the reign of Mosheh (4872) over the sons of Kush (3568), Latinus reigned over the sons of Kitim (3794) forty-five years.

8 x:

And he also built for himself a great and mighty tower, and he built therein an elegant temple for his residence, to conduct his government, as was the custom.

9 j:

In the third year of his reign he caused a proclamation to be made to all his skilful men, who made many ships for him.

10 y:

And Latinus assembled all his forces, and they came in ships, and went therein to fight with Az'drubal son of Angeas one reigning of Africa, and they came to Africa and engaged in battle with Az'drubal and his army.

11 ay:

And Latinus prevailed over Az'drubal, and Latinus took from Az'drubal the aqueduct which his father had brought from the sons of Kitim (3794), when he took Yaniah the daughter of Uzi for a wife, so Latinus overthrew the bridge of the aqueduct, and smote the whole army of Az'drubal a severe blow.

12 by:

And the remaining strong men of Az'drubal strengthened themselves, and their hearts were filled with envy, and they courted death, and again engaged in battle with Latinus one reigning of Kitim (3794).

13 gy:

And the battle was severe upon all the men of Africa, and they all fell wounded before Latinus and his people, and Az'drubal the one reigning also fell in that battle.

14 dy:

And the one reigning Az'drubal had a very beautiful daughter, whose name was Ush'pezena, and all the men of Africa embroidered her likeness on their garments, on account of her great beauty and comely appearance.

15 hj:

And the men of Latinus saw Ush'pezena, the daughter of Az'drubal, and praised her unto Latinus their one reigning.

16 wj:

And Latinus ordered her to be brought to him, and Latinus took Ush'pezena for a wife, and he turned back on his way to Kitim (3794).

17 zy:

And it was after the death of Az'drubal son of Angeas, when Latinus had turned back to his land from the battle, that all the inhabitants of Africa rose up and took Anibal the son of Angeas, the younger brother of Az'drubal, and made him one reigning instead at his brother over the whole land at Africa.

18 xy:

And when he reigned, he resolved to go to Kitim (3794) to fight with the sons of Kitim (3794), to avenge the cause of Az'drubal his brother, and the cause of the inhabitants of Africa, and he did so.

19 jy:

And he made many ships, and he came therein with his whole army, and he went to Kitim (3794).

20 k:

So Anibal fought with the sons of Kitim (3794), and the sons of Kitim (3794) fell wounded before Anibal and his army, and Anibal avenged his brother's cause.

21 ak:

And Anibal continued the war for eighteen years with the sons of Kitim (3794), and Anibal dwelt in the land of Kitim (3794) and encamped there for a long time.

22 bk:

And Anibal smote the sons of Kitim (3794) very severely, and he slew their great men and princes, and of the rest of the people he smote about eighty thousand men.

23 gk:

And at the end of days and years, Anibal returned to his land of Africa, and he reigned securely in the place of Az'drubal his brother.
