1 a:

At that time in the fifth year after the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had passed over Yar'den (3383), after the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had rested from their war with the K'na'anim (3669), at that time great and severe battles arose between Edom (123) and the children of Kitim (3794), and the children of Kitim (3794) fought against Edom (123).

2 b:

And Abianus one reigning of Kitim (3794) went forth in that year, that is in the thirty-first year of his reign, and a great force with him of the mighty men of the children of Kitim (3794), and he went to Se'ir (8165) to fight against the children of Esav (6215).

3 g:

And Hadad (1908) the one reigning of Edom (123) heard of his report, and he went forth to meet him with a heavy people and strong force, and engaged in battle with him in the field of Edom (123).

4 d:

And the hand of Kitim (3794) prevailed over the children of Esav (6215), and the children of Kitim (3794) slew of the children of Esav (6215), two and twenty thousand men, and all the children of Esav (6215) fled from before them.

5 h:

And the children of Kitim (3794) pursued them and they reached Hadad (1908) one reigning of Edom (123), who was running before them and they caught him alive, and brought him to Abianus one reigning of Kitim (3794).

6 w:

And Abianus ordered him to be slain, and Hadad (1908) one reigning of Edom (123) died in the forty-eighth year of his reign.

7 z:

And the children of Kitim (3794) continued their pursuit of Edom (123), and they smote them with a great slaughter and Edom (123) became subject to the children of Kitim (3794).

8 x:

And the children of Kitim (3794) ruled over Edom (123), and Edom (123) became under the hand of the children of Kitim (3794) and became one kingdom from that day.

9 j:

And from that time they could no more lift up their heads, and their kingdom became one with the children of Kitim (3794).

10 y:

And Abianus placed officers in Edom (123) and all the children of Edom (123) became subject and tributary to Abianus, and Abianus turned back to his own land, Kitim (3794).

11 ay:

And when he returned he renewed his government and built for himself a spacious and fortified palace for a royal residence, and reigned securely over the children of Kitim (3794) and over Edom (123).

12 by:

In those days, after the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had driven away all the K'na'anim (3669) and the Emori (567), Y'hoshu'a (3091) was old and advanced in years.

13 gy:

And Y'hovah (3068) said to Y'hoshu'a (3091), Thou art old, advanced in life, and a great part of the land remains to be possessed.

14 dy:

Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and to the half tribe of M'nasheh (4519), and Y'hoshu'a (3091) rose up and did as Y'hovah (3068) had spoken to him.

15 hj:

And he divided the whole land to the tribes of Yis'ra'el (3478) as an inheritance according to their divisions.

16 wj:

But to the tribe at Levi (3878) he gave no inheritance, the offerings of Y'hovah (3068) are their inheritance as Y'hovah (3068) had spoken of them by the hand of Mosheh (4872).

17 zy:

And Y'hoshu'a (3091) gave Mount Chev'ron (2275) to Kalev (3612) the son of Y'phuneh (3312), one portion above his brethren, as Y'hovah (3068) had spoken through Mosheh (4872).

18 xy:

Therefore Chev'ron (2275) became an inheritance to Kalev (3612) and his children unto this day.

19 jy:

And Y'hoshu'a (3091) divided the whole land by lots to all Yis'ra'el (3478) for an inheritance, as Y'hovah (3068) had commanded him.

20 k:

And the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) gave cities to the L'viyim (3881) from their own inheritance, and suburbs for their cattle, and property, as Y'hovah (3068) had commanded Mosheh (4872) so did the children of Yis'ra'el (3478), and they divided the land by Lot (3876) whether great or small.

21 ak:

And they went to inherit the land according to their boundaries, and the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) gave to Y'hoshu'a (3091) the son of Nun (5126) an inheritance amongst them.

22 bk:

By the word of Y'hovah (3068) did they give to him the city which he required, Tim'nat (8553)-Serach (8294) in Mount Ephrayim (669), and he built the city and dwelt therein.

23 gk:

These are the inheritances which El'azar (499) the priest and Y'hoshu'a (3091) the son of Nun (5126) and the heads of the fathers of the tribes portioned out to the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) by Lot (3876) in Shiloh (7887), before Y'hovah (3068), at the door of the tabernacle, and they left off dividing the land.

And Y'hovah (3068) gave the land to the Yis'ra'eli (3478), and they possessed it as Y'hovah (3068) had spoken to them, and as Y'hovah (3068) had sworn to their ancestors.

25 hk:

And Y'hovah (3068) gave to the Yis'ra'eli (3478) rest from all their enemies around them, and no man stood up against them, and Y'hovah (3068) delivered all their enemies into their hands, and not one thing failed of all the good which Y'hovah (3068) had spoken to the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478), yea Y'hovah (3068) performed every thing.

And Y'hoshu'a (3091) called to all the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) and he blessed them, and commanded them to serve Y'hovah (3068), and he afterward sent them away, and they went each man to his city, and each man to his inheritance.

And the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) served Y'hovah (3068) all the days of Y'hoshu'a (3091), and Y'hovah (3068) gave them rest from all around them, and they dwelt securely in their cities.

28 xk:

And it came to pass in those days, that Abianus one reigning of Kitim (3794) died, in the thirty-eighth year of his reign, that is the seventh year of his reign over Edom (123), and they buried him in his place which he had built for himself, and Latinus reigned in his stead fifty years.

And during his reign he brought forth an army, and he went and fought against the inhabitants of Britannia and Kernania, the children of Elishah (473) son of Yavan (3120), and he prevailed over them and made them tributary.

30 l:

He then heard that Edom (123) had revolted from under the hand of Kitim (3794), and Latinus went to them and smote them and subdued them, and placed them under the hand of the children of Kitim (3794), and Edom (123) became one kingdom with the children of Kitim (3794) all the days.

And for many years there was no king in Edom (123), and their government was with the children of Kitim (3794) and their king.

And it was in the twenty-sixth year after the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had passed the Yar'den (3383), that is the sixty-sixth year after the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had departed from Mits'rayim (4714), that Y'hoshu'a (3091) was old, advanced in years, being one hundred and eight years old in those days.

33 gl:

And Y'hoshu'a (3091) called to all Yis'ra'el (3478), to their elders, their judges and officers, after Y'hovah (3068) had given to all the Yis'ra'eli (3478) rest from all their enemies round about, and Y'hoshu'a (3091) said to the elders of Yis'ra'el (3478), and to their judges, Behold I am old, advanced in years, and you have seen what Y'hovah (3068) has done to all the nations whom he has driven away from before you, for it is Y'hovah (3068) who has fought for you.

34 dl:

Now therefore strengthen yourselves to keep and to do all the words of the law of Mosheh (4872), not to deviate from it to the right or to the left, and not to come amongst those nations who are left in the land; neither shall you make mention of the name of their Elohim (430)s, but you shall cleave to Y'hovah (3068) your Elohim (430), as you have done to this day.

35 hl:

And Y'hoshu'a (3091) greatly exhorted the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) to serve Y'hovah (3068) all their days.

36 wl:

And all the Yis'ra'eli (3478) said, We will serve Y'hovah (3068) our Elohim (430) all our days, we and our children, and our children's children, and our seed for ever.

37 zl:

And Y'hoshu'a (3091) made a covenant with the people on that day, and he sent away the children of Yis'ra'el (3478), and they went each man to his inheritance and to his city.

38 xl:

And it was in those days, when the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) were dwelling securely in their cities, that they buried the coffins of the tribes of their ancestors, which they had brought up from Mits'rayim (4714), each man in the inheritance of his children, the twelve sons of Ya'aqov (3290) did the children of Yis'ra'el (3478) bury, each man in the possession of his children.

39 jl:

And these are the names of the cities wherein they buried the twelve sons of Ya'aqov (3290), whom the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had brought up from Mits'rayim (4714).

40 m:

And they buried R'uven (7205) and Gad (1410) on this side Yar'den (3383), in Romia, which Mosheh (4872) had given to their children.

41 am:

And Shim'on (8095) and Levi (3878) they buried in the city Mauda, which he had given to the children of Shim'on (8095), and the suburb of the city was for the children of Levi (3878).

42 bm:

And Y'hudah (3063) they buried in the city of Bin'yamin (1144) opposite Beyt Lachem (1035).

43 gm:

And the bones of Yisaskhar (3485) and Z'vulun (2074) they buried in Tsidon (6721), in the portion which fell to their children.

44 dm:

And Dan (1835) was buried in the city of his children in Eshtael, and Naph'tali (5321) and Asher (836) they buried in Qadesh (6946)-Naph'tali (5321), each man in his place which he had given to his children.

45 hm:

And the bones of Yoseph (3130) they buried in Sh'khem (7927), in the part of the field which Ya'aqov (3290) had purchased from Chamor (2544), and which became to Yoseph (3130) for an inheritance.

46 wm:

And they buried Bin'yamin (1144) in Y'rushalaim (3389) opposite the Y'vusi (2983), which was given to the children of Bin'yamin (1144); the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) buried their fathers each man in the city of his children.

47 zm:

And at the end of two years, Y'hoshu'a (3091) the son of Nun (5126) died, one hundred and ten years old, and the time which Y'hoshu'a (3091) judged Yis'ra'el (3478) was twenty-eight years, and Yis'ra'el (3478) served Y'hovah (3068) all the days of his life.

48 xm:

And the other affairs of Y'hoshu'a (3091) and his battles and his reproofs with which he reproved Yis'ra'el (3478), and all which he had commanded them, and the names of the cities which the children of Yis'ra'el (3478) possessed in his days, behold they are written in the book of the words of Y'hoshu'a (3091) to the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478), and in the book of the wars of Y'hovah (3068), which Mosheh (4872) and Y'hoshu'a (3091) and the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) had written.

49 jm:

And the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) buried Y'hoshu'a (3091) in the border of his inheritance, in Tim'nat (8553)-Serach (8294), which was given to him in Mount Ephrayim (669).

50 n:

And El'azar (499) the son of Aharon (175) died in those days, and they buried him in a hill belonging to Pin'chas (6372) his son, which was given him in Mount Ephrayim (669).
