Yovel Jubilees 38

1 a:

And after that Y'hudah (3063) spake to Ya'aqov (3290), his father, and said unto him: 'Bend thy bow, father, and send forth thy arrows and cast down the adversary and slay the enemy; and mayst thou have the power, for we shall not slay thy brother, for he is such as thou, and he is like thee let us give him (this) honour.'

2 b:

Then Ya'aqov (3290) bent his bow and sent forth the arrow and struck Esav (6215), his brother (on his right breast) and slew him.

3 g:

And again he sent forth an arrow and struck 'Adoran the Aram (758)aean, on the left breast, and drove him backward and slew him.

4 d:

And then went forth the sons of Ya'aqov (3290), they and their servants, dividing themselves into companies on the four sides of the tower.

5 h:

And Y'hudah (3063) went forth in front, and Naph'tali (5321) and Gad (1410) with him and fifty servants with him on the south side of the tower, and they slew all they found before them, and not one individual of them escaped.

6 w:

And Levi (3878) and Dan (1835) and Asher (836) went forth on the east side of the tower, and fifty (men) with them, and they slew the fighting men of Mo'av (4124) and Amon (5983).

7 z:

And R'uven (7205) and Yisaskhar (3485) and Z'vulun (2074) went forth on the north side of the tower, and fifty men with them, and they slew the fighting men of the P'lish'tim (6430).

8 x:

And Shim'on (8095) and Bin'yamin (1144) and Chanokh (2585), R'uven (7205)'s son, went forth on the west side of the tower, and fifty (men) with them, and they slew of Edom (123) and of the Chori (2752)m (2752) four hundred men, stout warriors; and six hundred fled, and four of the sons of Esav (6215) fled with them, and left their father lying slain, as he had fallen on the hill which is in 'Aduram.

9 j:

And the sons of Ya'aqov (3290) pursued after them to the mountains of Se'ir (8165). And Ya'aqov (3290) buried his brother on the hill which is in 'Aduram, and he returned to his house.

10 y:

And the sons of Ya'aqov (3290) pressed hard upon the sons of Esav (6215) in the mountains of Se'ir (8165), and bowed their necks so that they became servants of the sons of Ya'aqov (3290).

11 ay:

And they sent to their father (to inquire) whether they should make peace with them or slay them.

12 by:

And Ya'aqov (3290) sent word to his sons that they should make peace, and they made peace with them, and placed the yoke of servitude upon them, so that they paid tribute to Ya'aqov (3290) and to his sons always.

13 gy:

And they continued to pay tribute to Ya'aqov (3290) until the day that he went down into Mits'rayim (4714).

14 dy:

And the sons of Edom (123) have not got quit of the yoke of servitude which the twelve sons of Ya'aqov (3290) had imposed on them until this day.

15 hj:

And these are the kings that reigned in Edom (123) before there reigned any king over the sons of Yis'ra'el (3478) [until this day] in the land of Edom (123).

16 wj:

And Balaq, the son of B'or (1160), reigned in Edom (123), and the name of his city was Danaba.

17 zy:

And Balaq died, and Jobab, the son of Zara of Boser, reigned in his stead.

18 xy:

And Jobab died, and 'Asam, of the land of Teyman (8487), reigned in his stead.

19 jy:

And 'Asam died, and 'Adath, the son of Barad, who slew Mid'yan (4080) in the field of Mo'av (4124), reigned in his stead, and the name of his city was Avith.

20 k:

And 'Adath died, and Salman, from 'Amaseqa, reigned in his stead.

21 ak:

And Salman died, and Sha'ul (7586) of Ra'aboth (by the) river, reigned in his stead.

22 bk:

And Sha'ul (7586) died, and Ba'elunan, the son of Achbor, reigned in his stead.

23 gk:

And Ba'elunan, the son of Achbor died, and 'Adath reigned in his stead, and the name of his wife was Maitabith, the daughter of Matarat, the daughter of Metabedza'ab.

24 dk:

These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom (123).
